S21

The Edge+ is quite probably the most desirable smartphone to date. Samsung has thrown all of the company's most advanced technology at it. The curved screen and metal finish shout out words like 'premium' and 'incredible' and 'stunning.'

Best smartphone above 5.5in. Samsung's Edge experience gets bigger and better - a seriously desirable smartphone...A superb performer across the board, this is the big-screen phone to opt for right now

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ is indisputably the king of Android phablets in Europe, but it comes with a royal price tag to match. The curved edges are attractive, and while they aid in reducing the width of the device, they don't add anything functionally amazing. They're mainly an aesthetic choice, though some will appreciate how they make the phone feel in the hand.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ is a brilliant phone... Two aspects of this phone that stick out further than Brighton pier: its screen and camera. Both are simply terrific. Combine these with the dazzling curvy design and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ seems one of the most immediately impressive handsets of recent years.

To be honest it's expensive, but there's more expensive devices out there, and this is a premium device which looks and feels premium. The basics are spot on – a great camera, a battery which charges quickly, a sharp and bright screen, great sound, fun video options, lots of functionality and bags of fun.

Samsung seems to have gone all out with Galaxy S6 edge+, delivering the best Hardware it has to offering in hardware, software and performance in a single package.

Almost everything about this phone is amazing. The design, the cameras, the screen, the screen, the screen. Hardware is great, software is good, and despite what everyone says about Touchwiz, the experience is top-notch... The only downside is the battery, and even that's not too bad. In short, we love this phone. We don't think you'll be disappointed if you spring for it – just be sure to get a case and insurance.

The S6 Edge+ is one of those phones that puts its money where its mouth is; it delivers the goods. Samsung did a great job in designing and building a high-end smartphone that performs well in nearly every way.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ may be absurdly large, but that's the point. As long as you're comfortable with the size and acknowledge that the edges really aren't anything special, this is otherwise an Android handset at its finest.

As the big brother to the already excellent S6 edge, the edge+ gets off to a flying start, showing off visual design flair like no other.

The S6 range has stunning displays and the curved edges give them the kind of kerb appeal other phones can only dream of. If you work on the go and watch a lot of moving images on tap, this phone is perfect for you, just remember to stop by at the payday lender's on your way to buy one.

Samsung's Galaxy S6 Edge Plus features the most beautiful design on the market. Too bad the curved screen is pretty much useless.

It's hard to give a universal recommendation on the Galaxy S6 edge+. After all, the size will scare away many right off the bat, and the remaining will have to decide how much they truly value the edge display.

The S6 Edge+ offers the same internal hardware and features as the S6 Edge, period. The manufacturer has taken no effort to add in expandable storage, MHL, USB Type-C, a brighter backlight, more accurate display, or alleviate the throttling issues of the Exynos 7420 SoC. At the very least, the S6 Edge+ includes a larger internal battery to compensate for the larger display.

Buy the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ if you love the idea of a wraparound screen; otherwise, you'll be able to find less expensive phones that do nearly as much.

The Galaxy S6 Edge+ shows some of Samsung's best, and worst, tendencies. It's a gorgeous phone with some of the finest hardware available right now, but its key feature is relatively useless, and still somewhat experimental.

The Verge | Dan Seifert

Samsung actually makes smartphones that are both beautiful and functional: the standard Galaxy S6 is a great example, and the just-announced Note 5 is a practical complement to the Edge+'s extravagance. The Edge+ may have head-turning looks and a museum-quality finish, but when it comes down to just being a smartphone I'd want to live with and use for many hours every day, it sadly falls short.

If you're looking for the best Android phablet on the market today the Galaxy Note5 or Galaxy S6 edge+ is likely to be your best bet. They may not be a big jump up from the Galaxy S6, but they're still the best Android phablets you can get today.

I can honestly say you sort of pay for what you get. After all it is a premium device, but it's by no means a faultless one. If you're a light-medium user of your devices, who wants great photos and videos, and a cutting edge design, then this is the phone for you.

Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ is easily among the best smartphones you can buy in the market today ... however, if the budget seems a little too much, then you can take a look at the new Moto X Style, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 or HTC One E9+.

The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is not a phone for everyone: it is a big device, it is very expensive and the edge functions – and the feel of the phone because of the curved screen – will not appeal to everyone.

A superb phone for those in love with phablets - this is aesethetics combined with stellar performance at a decent price... just a shame the battery still suffers... The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ is a brilliant phone, packed to the rafters with some brilliant bits... and they mostly add up to an awesome whole.

With its top class performance and superb camera, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ rightly deserves its title as the best Android phablet since the Note 4. However, when its specs are nigh-on identical to the regular S6 Edge, it can't help but feel like a rather lazy update, especially when it costs so much more for what essentially boils down to a difference of 0.5in.

An excellent phone on its own merits, the Edge Plus is unfortunately let down by the fact that it's a little unnecessary compared to its predecessor... The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is an undeniably impressive phone. It's got some of the best-performing hardware on the market, a great camera, and it's gorgeous to look at.

With more memory and excellent battery life the Galaxy S6 Edge+ is a powerful phone and a great choice if you want a large screen. However, it's expensive, unwieldy and Samsung has dropped the IR blaster and hardly added anything to the edge screen.

Fast, slick and dripping with features, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ is as high-end as phablets come. It's not an essential upgrade to the standard Galaxy S6 Edge, but offers plenty to make it a desirable device in its own right.

The Inquirer | Carly Page

On first impressions the Galaxy S6 Edge+ failed to wow us, largely due to its OTT design and bulky size. It soon managed to win us over, its screen, thanks to Samsung's dual display technology, is unrivalled when it comes to the overall viewing experience it offers, nor is there a phone that could likely best it when it comes to overall performance.

In short, though the S6 edge+ undoubtedly catches the eye, it's far from certain that it does enough with its unusual hardware to earn a place in your pocket... Photos are crisp and clean, and though Samsung does err on the side of saturation for colors, it avoids being clownish in the process.

The Galaxy S6 Edge+ takes everything that made the success of the Galaxy S6 Edge, and made it bigger... The S6 Edge+ looks a bit better and is a little thinner (6.9mm vs. 7.6mm) and lighter (153g vs. 171g).

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ proves that beauty is more than skin deep. A hefty price tag, lack of some features we've come to expect and a few issues with its ease of use means it not quite perfect, though. But my is it pretty.

How HandsetExpert Works: We don't run ads on the site, or charge users to use the site. The site is funded using commission links, where we may receive a commission if a phone or tariff is purchased via HandsetExpert. Our editorial, phone scoring and recommendation system and deal-finding algorithms are not affected by this; we are fiercely committed to providing unbiased, independent information.

Important notes

  • We aim to compare as many tariffs in the marketplace from the UK as possible. However, we do not include every package (e.g. legacy tariffs no longer available, or tariffs only available to existing/specific customers), nor do we detail every aspect of every tariff (e.g. international out of bundle rates, on-network minutes, etc).
  • SIM Only deals do not include plans shorter than 30 days or Pay As You Go rates.
  • We work really hard to get accurate prices from as many providers as possible, but some deals or providers may not be included; if there’s anything we’ve missed then please get in touch and let us know.
  • Whenever we can, we will let you know if a deal is time limited (such as a flash deal), and when the deal expires.
  • For tariffs which offer "unlimited" allowances, there may be times where traffic management or fair usage policies apply.
  • Additional charges for payment methods other than direct debit and for itemised/paper billing may apply.
  • Data only SIM cards, mobile broadband packages, and pay monthly tablets are currently not included in the comparison.
  • Out of bundle charges are not included in the calculation of Average Monthly Cost.
  • Contracts may not be available for some phone models in all colours and/or sizes, and a small number may only be available either as a pay monthly contract or a contract free handset, but not both.
  • Providers may increase the cost of your contract by RPI (inflation). However, if prices are increased that then cause a materially detrimental impact, you have the right to exit your contract without penalty. More details available from Ofcom plus comparative information on customer service and complaints handling & their guide on how to complain.
  • Ofcom runs a voluntary accreditation scheme for digital comparison tools (DCTs) for telephone, broadband and pay-TV, and has confirmed that this DCT meets the criteria for accreditation. For further details about the scheme, including the criteria that DCTs must meet, visit the price comparison page on the Ofcom website.
