Neowin | Rajesh Pandey

The firm might be heavily promoting the Galaxy S21 Ultra and its 108MP primary camera, but it is the Galaxy S21+ which is the star of the show for me. It is not too big, offers great performance and battery life, packs a competent camera setup, and offers all this at a pretty reasonable price tag for a flagship smartphone.

This is a great phone for those looking for a big screen Samsung experience and who don't want the ultimate zoom camera included.

Just like its Galaxy S21 siblings, the Galaxy S21+ also offers excellent performance, but aside from the larger form factor and battery, there is practically no difference to the Galaxy S21

The Galaxy S21 has its compact size going for it, whereas the Galaxy S21 Ultra has all the fanciest and most advanced tech in Samsung's arsenal. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S21+ is... just an oversized Galaxy S21 with a larger battery. There's no signature feature that makes it stand out.

The Galaxy S21+ has a new design language, a smooth 120Hz display, a powerful 5nm chip, long battery life, and capable cameras. In my opinion, the Galaxy S21+ fixes all the issues the last-gen Galaxy S20 series had, and I am glad Samsung addressed those issues.

NextPit | Benjamin Lucks

The Galaxy S21+ is far better compared to the Galaxy S20+, I wouldn't advise anyone who owns the predecessor to pick one up. There are just too few new features and the missing microSD slot and a lower resolution display surely work against it.

The S21+ is a great device but doesn't have any standout features which would make it an easy recommendation.

The Galaxy S21 Plus sits in a weird spot between the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Ultra, but it features almost everything good about the regular S21 in a bigger package.

Android Authority | Robert Triggs

Despite the lack of microSD card, lower resolution display, and last-gen camera package, the Galaxy S21 Plus remains an excellent all-round smartphone in 2021. Samsung's Plus model is usually the standout yearly flagship, but this time it's awkwardly squeezed between a very affordable Galaxy S21 and the bleeding edge S21 Ultra.

It's not that you're going to have a bad experience with the S21+, it's just that there are better smartphone options currently available for less money. If you want the best, go for the S21 Ultra, and if you want to save some cash, wait for S20+ to go on sale -- and finally, if you really want to save some money, purchase the nearly as good and far cheaper Pixel 5.

For anyone looking for a top-of-the-line Android phone with the most sophisticated features, we would recommend the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Having said that, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus is still an impressive handset that will satisfy the needs of most people, and at less than £950, it feels like pretty good value for money.

Trusted Reviews | Alastair Stevenson

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus is a great Android phone with one of the best screens available right now. The only notable downside is that it doesn't offer a significant upgrade on last year's S20 Plus, making it a hard sell for those who have bought a new handset in the past few years.

TechRadar | Mats Karlsson

The Galaxy S21 Plus is a superb phone on its own merits, but it offers little that you don't get with the regular, and cheaper, Galaxy S21, apart from its larger screen. But if screen size is a deal-breaker for you, and you're happy to pay a bit more for the extra real estate, then you'll be plenty satisfied with the middle sibling in the S21 family.

...The Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus are largely the same as they were for the S21. It's an astonishingly good, top-shelf handset, and it's a smartphone that should serve you well for the coming years, if you can afford it.

The Guardian | Samuel Gibbs

The Samsung Galaxy S21+ is a good phone but one totally overshadowed by a far better model that is very similar in dimensions – the S21 Ultra.

Digital Trends | Andy Boxall

he Galaxy S21+ 5G is a classier, bigger version of the S21, and while it has excellent quality, it doesn't drastically improve on the S20+, or reach the heights of the S21 Ultra.

How HandsetExpert Works: We don't run ads on the site, or charge users to use the site. The site is funded using commission links, where we may receive a commission if a phone or tariff is purchased via HandsetExpert. Our editorial, phone scoring and recommendation system and deal-finding algorithms are not affected by this; we are fiercely committed to providing unbiased, independent information.

Important notes

  • We aim to compare as many tariffs in the marketplace from the UK as possible. However, we do not include every package (e.g. legacy tariffs no longer available, or tariffs only available to existing/specific customers), nor do we detail every aspect of every tariff (e.g. international out of bundle rates, on-network minutes, etc).
  • SIM Only deals do not include plans shorter than 30 days or Pay As You Go rates.
  • We work really hard to get accurate prices from as many providers as possible, but some deals or providers may not be included; if there’s anything we’ve missed then please get in touch and let us know.
  • Whenever we can, we will let you know if a deal is time limited (such as a flash deal), and when the deal expires.
  • For tariffs which offer "unlimited" allowances, there may be times where traffic management or fair usage policies apply.
  • Additional charges for payment methods other than direct debit and for itemised/paper billing may apply.
  • Data only SIM cards, mobile broadband packages, and pay monthly tablets are currently not included in the comparison.
  • Out of bundle charges are not included in the calculation of Average Monthly Cost.
  • Contracts may not be available for some phone models in all colours and/or sizes, and a small number may only be available either as a pay monthly contract or a contract free handset, but not both.
  • Providers may increase the cost of your contract by RPI (inflation). However, if prices are increased that then cause a materially detrimental impact, you have the right to exit your contract without penalty. More details available from Ofcom plus comparative information on customer service and complaints handling & their guide on how to complain.
  • Ofcom runs a voluntary accreditation scheme for digital comparison tools (DCTs) for telephone, broadband and pay-TV, and has confirmed that this DCT meets the criteria for accreditation. For further details about the scheme, including the criteria that DCTs must meet, visit the price comparison page on the Ofcom website.
